Arsenal Transfer Update: Zubimendi, Kepa, and Nørgaard Join the Gunners

Published on Jun 26, 2025

Arsenal have kicked off the 2025 summer transfer window with a clear mission: strengthen the spine of the team. Mikel Arteta’s side has already secured three key signings, Martin Zubimendi, Kepa, and  Christian Norgaard as they gear up to challenge for silverware in the 2025–26 season.

Midfield Reinforcements: Zubimendi and Nørgaard

The headline signing so far is Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. Arsenal triggered his release clause of around €60 million (approx. £52 million) to bring in the deep-lying playmaker. Zubimendi is expected to become a long-term anchor in the midfield following the exits of T. Partey and Jorginho.

Joining him is Christian Nørgaard from Brentford, in a deal worth up to £13 million with add-ons. The Danish international brings Premier League experience and defensive solidity, offering crucial depth in the defensive midfield role.

Goalkeeping Department Strengthened: Kepa Signs

In a surprise move, Arsenal have also signed Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea for just £5 million. The former Spain No. 1 will compete with David Raya for the starting spot, providing Arteta with much-needed experience and depth between the sticks after Aaron Ramsdale’s uncertain future.

Transfer Window Not Over Yet

While Zubimendi, Kepa, and Nørgaard are exciting additions, Arsenal are far from done. The club continues to monitor striker options, with B. Sesko (RB Leipzig), Rodrygo (Real Madrid), and Hugo Ekitike among the top attacking targets.

The Gunners are prioritizing a prolific forward who can complement Gabriel Jesus and K. Havertz, especially with increased demands of European competition.

Key Signings Signal Arsenal’s Intent to Compete

With strategic additions across crucial positions, Arsenal are sending a clear message to the Premier League : they’re ready to compete at the highest level. Zubimendi’s control, Nørgaard’s tenacity, and Kepa’s experience could prove instrumental in Arteta’s pursuit of trophies. As the window progresses, all eyes will be on the Emirates to see which attacking star joins next.
