PSG Blow Past Real Madrid 4–0 to Reach Club World Cup Final

Published on Jul 10, 2025

Paris Saint Germain dismantled Real Madrid with a stunning 4–0 win in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final on Wednesday night, underlining their status as one of the most dominant sides in world football. The French champions took full control from kickoff, exposing Madrid’s defensive frailties and asserting their superiority in every department.

Midfielder Fabián Ruiz opened the scoring just six minutes into the match, capitalizing on a poor clearance to slot home with composure. It didn’t take long for PSG to double their lead Ousmane Dembélé found the net in the 9th minute after a slip by Antonio Rüdiger, making it 2–0 before Madrid had even settled. Ruiz then struck again midway through the first half, burying a third goal that effectively ended the contest before the break.

Luis Enrique’s men were relentless, combining high pressing with sharp, vertical passing to break through Madrid’s lines. Real, usually so composed under pressure, looked disjointed and struggled to maintain possession under PSG’s intensity.

Madrid boss Xabi Alonso made several tactical changes, but they did little to shift the momentum. PSG remained in full control throughout the second half, and their dominance was finally capped off in the 87th minute when substitute Gonçalo Ramos converted a low-driven cross to seal a statement victory.

Speaking after the match, Alonso admitted: “This kind of defeat hurts, but we’ll learn from it. These matches teach us where we need to improve.”

For PSG, the result is another milestone in a dream season. With Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the UEFA Champions League already in the bag including a 5–0 demolition of Dortmund in the UCL final they now stand just one game away from completing a historic quadruple.

Fabián Ruiz, named man of the match, credited the team’s mentality: “We came here with one goal to dominate. Everyone knew their role and executed it perfectly.”

Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois echoed the frustration of fans, saying: “We fell short tonight. It’s only right that we apologize to the supporters.”

Next up for PSG is the Club World Cup final, where they will face Chelsea in what promises to be a thrilling showdown. With their current form, the Parisians look every bit ready to crown their season with global glory.
